Testing, Prepping & Trying Cases in the Shadow of a Pandemic

The pandemic has a left an indelible imprint on all of us; physically, emotionally and financially. Now, as we return to the courtroom after being apart for so long, we are faced with the challenge of finding commonality, the intersection of our experiences with those of our prospective jurors. This presentation will endeavor to guide you through the litigation timeline. Our goal is to share with you where the opportunities lie in understanding our venues, venires and jurors. Who are they, how have they managed through this challenging time and how can we engage with them? We will discuss the use of supplemental juror questionnaires and the evaluation and implementation of data acquired through them; crafting voir dire questions and strategizing for jury selection; and developing themes and strategies for trying our cases and improving our story telling. CLE Approved for 1 Gen Credit and 1 Civil Trial Certification Credit.
