Summary of SB 2A

Governor Ron DeSantis called the Florida Legislature to a special session in December 2022 to address the state’s growing property insurance crisis. On December 14, 2022, the Legislature approved SB 2A and presented it to the Governor. On December 16, 2022, Governor DeSantis signed the bill into law. This presentation summarizes the major litigation-related reforms included in SB 2A and then details the amendments that were successfully defeated.
